For Difficult Days

For Lonely Times:
"The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he
will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will
joy over thee with singing." [Zephaniah 3:17]
For When you need
strength and courage: "Fear
thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will
strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right
hand of my righteousness." [Isaiah 41:10] "The LORD is my light and my
salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall
I be afraid?" [Psalm 27:1] "Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the
everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not,
neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth
power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even
the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But
they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up
with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and
not faint." [Isaiah 40:28 - 31]
FOR WHEN I NEED COMFORT: "Yea, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art
with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." [Psalm 23:4] "When thou
passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they
shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be
burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee." [Isaiah 43:2]
FOR WHEN I NEED HOPE: "Why art thou cast down, O my
soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise
him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God." [Psalm 43:5]
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the
LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."
[Jeremiah 29:11] "My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from
him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall
not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my
strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour
out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah." [Psalm 62:5-8]
FOR WHEN I AM ANGRY: " A soft answer turneth away
wrath: but grievous words stir up anger." [Proverbs 15:1] "A wrathful man
stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife." [Proverbs
15:18] "He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth
his spirit than he that taketh a city." [Proverbs 16:32] "Wherefore, my beloved
brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the
wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God." [James 1:18, 19]
FOR WHEN I WORRY: "Be careful for nothing; but in
every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be
made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." [Philippians 4:6, 7] "
Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer
the righteous to be moved." [Psalm 55:22] "Therefore I say unto you, Take no
thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for
your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body
than raiment?...Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What
shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things
do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all
these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and
all these things shall be added unto you. [Matthew 6:25, 31 - 33]
FOR WHEN I HURT: "He healeth the broken in heart,
and bindeth up their wounds." [Psalm 147:3] "For I will restore health unto
thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called
thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after." [Jeremiah
30:17] "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no
more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:
for the former things are passed." [A promise of the time to come -Revelation
21:4]
FOR ANY CIRCUMSTANCE: "This I recall to my mind,
therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not
consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning:
great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul;
therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for
him, to the soul that seeketh him" [Lamentations 3:21 -25]
